Soleier Recipe

Soleier is are popular in pubs and are easy to make. Originally, foods were pickled to preserve them for consumption in the winter. But the unique flavor caught on and now foods are pickled year-round. Fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, and eggs are all popular options.

Ingredients of Soleier

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons salt
  • 1/2 cup onion skin
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons caraway seeds
  • 6 peppercorns

Instructions to make Soleier

Hard-boil the eggs. Place them under a running tap of cold water, then tap the shells firmly all over to crack them. Place the peeled eggs in a deep fireproof dish. Boil the water, salt, onion skins, peppercorns and caraway seeds together for 5 minutes. Pour over the eggs. Stand in a cold place overnight, and serve cut in oblong quarters.
